Guidelines

Guidelines capture all the visual rules for clients´ specific style therefore they must be followed. You have to be familiar with guidelines of the task you work on and be able to apply them correctly in all slides.


Guideline file usually contains these rules you must follow:

  • usage of correct template and layouts
  • slide frame
  • font type and minimum font size rules
  • correct color usage
  • bullet points style and indentation settings
  • textbox margins
  • heading and textbox style
  • icon style
  • table format
  • graph format
  • any other guidelines defined in the guideline file


What does it mean if you got this tag as feedback from an admin?


  • Some guidelines were not followed
  • You haven´t informed your admin about making exception to the guidelines due to some specific reasons


What can you do to become better?


  • Study the guidelines carefully before starting on the task
  • If you are already familiar with the guidelines make sure to recheck if you didn´t forget about any rule
  • Keep refreshing your memory even with guidelines you remember because they might have been updated with new rules
  • Use the help of checklist that you can see for some clients at the side panel of your task
  • Read all available clients notes that might contain additional information to the guidelines
  • If you have to disobey some guideline rule due to some reason (fx. heavy content) inform your admin
  • Remember that all guideline rules are equally important therefore do not underestimate less visible rules such as textbox margins or correct bullet points indentation
